Meet Our Summer 2024 Team!

ASUS Camps prides itself each year in creating and fostering an amazing team of camp counsellors! Our staff dedicates itself to ensuring that each camper has an inclusive, accessible, and incredible experience every day at camp. Each counsellor brings something unique to the table to spark creativity and imagination in all campers! This summer, they cannot wait to pass on all of their knowledge to each camper. All ASUS Camps staff are required to have a valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check. They cannot wait for the camp fun to begin!

As a current third year Concurrent Education student, I am passionate about creating fun, engaging, and memorable opportunities for kids. My name is Sophia, and I am the English Director for ASUS Camps this summer :) I am entering my fourth year at Queen’s University and my ultimate goal is to become an elementary school teacher. Fond memories of my own camp experiences have inspired me to create a similar environment of enjoyment and learning. Our amazing team of directors and counsellors are very excited to bring fun and engaging activities that will create unforgettable memories for all the campers!

Hi! My name is Jess (she/her), and I'm going into my fourth year of music in voice performance and concurrent education with teachables in vocal music and social sciences. I'm super passionate about cooking, all kinds of music creation, and getting active. In my free time, I sing with the Isabel Voices, work on puzzles, and scrapbook. This summer, I'm most looking forward to making friendship bracelets, playing group games in the sunshine, and making friends along the way!

Savannah Da Silva

Hi there! My name is Savannah (she/her) and I’m going into my fourth year as a con-ed student. My major is Language, Literature and Cultures, and I love to learn and do anything creative! On my down time I can often be found reading or embroidering. I’m looking forward to meeting the wonderful campers who will be joining us this year and making magic this summer!

Alexia Platt

I am going into my third year of Con-Ed, and I hope to be an elementary school teacher once I graduate! I am a history major, and I am getting a minor in Black studies. I love running, hiking, reading, and listening to music. My favourite summer camp activities are sports, games and crafts!

Hello! My name is Wesley (any/all), and I'm stoked to be a camp counselor this summer! I'm a History major entering my third year, and ultimately aim to be a teacher. I love the arts, from visual to performing, and can often be found outside enjoying nature. I hope to bring fun and excitement to all ASUS campers, and I look forward to creating wonderful memories with you all!

I love spending time with my dog and family/friends, reading, and I’m currently learning sign language! I’m so excited to meet everyone and have a blast at camp this summer!

I love all things music and collaborating with others, and I love to play video games and hang out with my friends in my free time. I was an Arts + Crafts counsellor at a summer camp last year, and am looking forward to another great summer of creative learning, joy, and just the right amount of silliness. Hi! My name is Logan (she/her) and I am so excited to be a counsellor this summer! I am a psychology major heading into my 4th year at Queen's. I love nature and animals (especially dogs). My favourite hobbies are baking bread and reading. I can't wait to meet everyone this summer and go on some new adventures, I know it's going to be so much fun!

Hello, I'm Meredith (she/her) and I am super excited to be back at ASUS camps this summer!! I am going into the final year of my degree here at Queen's and am majoring in Health Studies. This summer I am looking forward to our amazing race week, as outdoor activities and games are my favourite part of the camp day and I love to travel when I can, my favourite place that I've visited was Budapest, where I travelled last summer. I am also a big reader and have crafty hobbies like origami, and bracelet making which are some of my favourite things to do with campers during free time.

Bonjour I’m Aida! My pronouns are she/her. I’m a third year BioPsychology student here at Queen’s and I’m super excited for the ASUS camps this summer! As a French counsellor I’m excited about gaining more opportunities to speak my native tongue and to encourage the youth of Kingston to develop their skills in French. I’m someone who enjoys working out, reading, spending time by the water and hanging out with our house cat! I can’t wait to meet you all and to get ready for what the next few months hold! Hey! I'm Romona (she/her) and I’m excited to be one of your English/French Counsellors this summer. I’m a fifth year Queen’s Chemistry student who’s passionate about healthcare and research. I enjoy singing, biking, painting, baking, and trying new things. I’m looking forward to the Once Upon a Time Theme Week, so everyone can embrace their inner magic. I can’t wait to facilitate the activities to engage learning, and promote fun filled days for the campers to enjoy.
